maybe i will

ski season has been awesome this year- as opposed to most other years when skiing was nonexistent. I been working at a local hill teaching 4 year olds to ski. Not just 4 year olds, but a lot of kids. I learned that my superpower is patience. Sure i get frustrated and pissed and discouraged, but most days are better than worse. Plus, I get to ski all the time, probably have 70+ days on snow this season and my skiing has improved greatly.
The Mountain

Skied at A-Basin, Winter Park a bunch, Copper. Next year we will have Vail resorts at our disposal which will be awesome.
Cycling- I haven't been on a bike in months, about 4 i think? It is embarrassing to say that for some reason, it seems very strange to have not ridden in so long, especially when my fitness was so good last fall. Let's say it is a rebuilding year. I have plans to ride on Saturday, road, and it is going to hurt me physically and heal me mentally. My legs are hairy, trying to decide whether I want to shave them.
Running- same deal as cycling. Probably ran 4 times since mid-december. Yes my midsection is expanding, Thanks Coors(light)! Again, feels weird!  Ran today and it felt awesome. Not a huge run by any means but i took it nice and easy, concentrated on staying loose with good form.

What is next? ski season has about 3 weeks left, well besides A-Basin, hope to be skiing there into May. Summer work plans- A couple irons in the fire, maybe dragging stages and fencing around to cycling events. Maybe working a summer camp. Hopefully some sweet mtb trips to the desert, fruita. the lady wants to climb. we will do stuff. Golden is sweet.

whoa i forgot i even had a blog!
updates: I have moved to Golden CO with Mary Ellen, who has a job with Dish Network.
I don't have a job yet. Searching, kind of. At this time looking for something that I won't mind leaving to go back to AL for the holidays. Retail!
So I am a year (or more) wiser than when I left this rant. What is different? Principally the lack of my mancave area, the house, the dogs hunting grounds, AL, freinds, family, my sweet job, just about everything is lacked that was. What have I gained? new trails, increased probability of skiing a lot this winter, a tiny apartment, walking distance to necessities(store/redbox).
Theres snow on the ground here today, a little bit anyway. not sticking to road surfaces as the temps aren't below freezing yet but solid 30's/40's all week. ME and I will likely be racing on some snow tomorrow in Frisco. Which brings me to the CX scene. We raced north of town last weekend and I had my ass giftwrapped and handed to me finishing next to last in the SS race. I felt like i put out a good hard effort but the speed wasn't there at all. Too big of a gear and altitude are my excuses and I will be leaning hard on those for awhile. Plus i fried my legs the day prior riding down to RedRocks and back. Whiner. Tomorrow we race at 9000ft, and I am not sure I can find a smaller ring for the bike since i gave it to someone awhile back. I do have a 34 i think but that is too small. 36 would be OK. Would require some bike work and I just haven't felt like it lately(for like 9 months). Tis the season though.
Also in the above pic you can see our sweet view of the back of a shopping center. Not even a nice shipping center, we're talking Dollar Store and GoodWill. Theres a Taco Bell in the parking lot. Subway too. Guess I need to pull in the schmancy furniture before it gets rurnt by the wet.
OK, so Upsides: good water pressure, loud ceiling vent fans, easy access to get the girls onto grass.
Downsides- living in an apartment complex- a 'cheap' one, along with a lot of foreign people, families with kids, jackass dodos. here is a pic of some DFnMF that swung through the alley to let his dog shit in our 'yard', didn't pick it up and drove off. I'll be watching for him again.
Riding has been fun. A brief recount if you will.
#1- ride into Denver to fetch ME's accord that was towed- 14mi, mostly greenway/bikepath.
#2- Leg Fry mission to RedRocks & Morrison- not sure how far. couple hrs
#3- CX race hurt me, still have bloody boogers but that is also from dry climate
#4- Brunch foray into Denver with ME, all greenway, 58mi. we were cooked at the end.
#5- MTB at Green Mtn- greenway to trails, nice singletrack.
#6- today i guess. If i can find a 36tooth ring or suck it up and go with 34.

back to the job search and more work on our humble abode.

the exploits begin, or continue. whatever.

exploits for 4/12/11-
cleaned a bunch of trash out of 'my footprint' of the house. clutter kills yo.
i guess this blog will handle my baggage, including work stuff and personal. maybe a bit of sport and damn sure a bunch of drinking.
